Cookie’s Tuna Tantrum
By Molly

I’m Molly the Queen and I’m here to confess
My brother Cookie’s drama? A daily hot mess.
But nothing compares to his famous display,
When the tuna tin comes out to play.

It starts with a stare those wide, hungry eyes,
He circles my human, meows, pleads, and sighs.
He pats at her ankle, he taps at her knee,
“Open it NOW stop ignoring me!”

She reaches the tin he’s up on his toes,
A tiny tornado of whiskers and woes.
But the tin stays closed, no tuna in sight,
So Cookie lets loose with all of his might!

A pitiful yowl, a stomp of his paw,
A dramatic flop on the clean kitchen floor.
He rolls on his back with a pitiful plea,
“Look at my belly! It’s empty, you see!”

Finally crack! the tin makes its sound,
Cookie freezes mid-tantrum, ears all unbound.
In two seconds flat, the drama is done,
His bowl’s overflowing oh tuna, sweet one!

So if you hear wailing at quarter to two,
It’s just Cookie’s tuna tantrum coming for you.
No caviar, no salmon, no ham will suffice
Only tuna will calm that cat’s hungry vice!
